A new addition to the New York electronic music scene is up and coming tech house/minimal DJ Steve Tuciarone aka Rone.  Rone spent most of his musical career as guitarist/song writer heavily influenced by bands like Pink Floyd and Radiohead.  After moving to NYC in 2005 he was instantly drawn in by the sounds of minimal masters such as Steve Bug and Claude Vonstroke.  Rone has recently been holding down the opening set for the new Minimal Science Residency at Stay(244 E. Houston) with NYC DJ veterans Dan E and Danielle Nicole.   The next Minimal Science event will take place on Jan 15 at Stay.

For booking info please send an email to stuciarone@gmail.com.

I'm your typical bedroom DJ turned NYC local talent, only slightly better than the rest; or so I've been told. Over the past 9 years I've played at all the same places in NYC that every other local jockey excitedly lists in their bios ...oh, and in Chicago once. That was fun.  Musically I've found inspiration in the likes of (to name a few) Danny Tenaglia, Josh Wink, and Rui Da Silva; and the fun antics of those like Lee Burridge and Danny Howells.  I like to drop my bpms into the 123-125ish range, so don't be alarmed if you own the same records and they sound a little different. (yes, I said records, I still play them) I don't produce nor do I ever plan too. ...but I have turned out a sweet cut and paste edit in my time. My only affiliation is with the SIMPLE brand that was created in light of a monthly party started 2 summers ago with DJ friends DavidJames & SpoonyD.

Barry Shaw [Red Light | NYC]

Barry Shaw has been living in NYC for three years and in that time has honed his sense for diverse styles of music, drawing on electronic music exposure first gained via his South African upbringing and broadened by time spent living in Japan and Washington D.C. The first Detroit techno mix tapes handed down to him prove influential to this day as evidenced by his keen sense for dub and deeper rhythms across a variety of styles and tempos ranging from techno, tech & deep house, disco and soul. Ever focused on mixing, his sets are well poised, progress naturally and satiate both dancer and listener alike.

Eddie Rodriguez [Red Light | NYC]

Eddie's love of music bought him his first vinyl record 6 years ago. Influenced by early New York house and the fin de siecle club scene, he became a disciple on the art of dj'ing. A Brooklynite since 2000, his influences have grown in conjunction with the borough's claim over the "new sound" of New York.  Obsessive about musical selection and presentation, you can find his unique signature on all his mixes: dance music dug deeper than most, but always current, unique, provoking you to move. He brings the mood to the party when he plays out. You'll hear warm-ups on the lush waves of downtempo, classic hip-hop, soul, disco; and when the party is at a fever pitch, you'll find yourself in a hands-in-the air free for all.

Mousky [Red Light | NYC]

Born and raised in New York City, Mousky, ex-vocalist in a metal band, started DJing drum & bass, house and hip-hop while living in Washington D.C. After years of playing countless house parties, hosting a weekly college radio show, and a holding a year-long residency at Cafe Japone, Mousky moved back home to NYC. He has since rocked New York clubs such as Shelter, Sullivan Room, Public Assembly, Love, Piano's, Tonic, Sin-Sin, Europa, Sputnik and Southpaw. Mousky's fun-loving, international sound has also rattled packed dancefloors in South America, headlining wild parties in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil at major venues such as Bahrein, D-Edge and Clandestino.

His music is also all over the map, seamlessly mixing multiple styles into the same set. From techno and dirty electro to drum & bass, baltimore club and baile funk, Mousky's sets are bass-heavy, rowdy, uplifting and risque. Heavily influenced by latin, middle eastern, Brazilian and reggae music, his crowd-pleasing, and energetic performances are always full of surprises. A speaker of four languages, Mousky is also a versatile vocalist whose mic skills rival his tricks behind the decks. No matter what style, venue, crowd or city, Mousky always brings the nasty, keeping the dancefloor shakin' with A1 selection and airtight mixing.

Rob Paterson [Red Light | Manyc | NYC]

Rob Paterson is a young musician/producer/DJ from NY. Coming from a classical and jazz background in trumpet, Rob applied what he learned from countless orchestral and theory classes to his own musical development. It was in college that he taught himself how to mix records and produce. Subsequent late nights in dank underground clubs and other dubious dwellings twisted and molded his sound as a DJ: dark; deep; delirious; somewhat Teutonic with a deranged bounce.  The combination of his genre bending sound and high energy performance has helped him secure bookings in top clubs and parties around North America, including the Winter Music Conference, Robots [NYC] and Club Circa [Toronto] to name a few.

In addition to DJing, Rob focuses heavily on managing Communycate audio studios, producing a wide range of innovative tracks, and performing live with his organic/electric duo Multiple Mono.
